Hi fellow HRYRA club members,
This is a reminder about the US Sailing Basic Race
Management Seminar to be held at the Nyack Boat Club on Saturday March
12. If you are planning to attend, please register soon. See
details below. This course is most helpful for members of the Race
Comm and Race Patrol. It
is also helpful for racers, who are not involved with race management. It
will help you with: starts, changes of course, and learning several important
sections of the Racing Rules of Sailing.
The Nyack
Boat Club and US Sailing are sponsoring a one day Race Management Seminar on
Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 0800 -1730 at the Nyack Boat Club. Bill
Kirkpatrick will be the lead instructor. At the end of the
day you can take the test that is required for becoming a US Sailing Club Race
Officer.
You can register by going to USSailing.org. The fee, which includes meals, snacks, basic written materials and grading of your test is $45 for members of US Sailing and $75 for all others. For more details see the US Sailing website or contact Bill Mann (845-709-3223) or Bob Shoemaker (201-444-2196). The course is open to anyone.
