Welcome to Shattemuc Yacht Club, the oldest Yacht Club on the Hudson River. We want your visit to Ossining and the Historic Hudson Valley to be a pleasant one, so here is some helpful visitor information.
Recently, with the assistance of a Boating Infrastructure Grant through the US Department Fish and Wildlife, we have added over 30 transient slips and docks open to the public. These facilities provide a great place to rest, relax and rejuvenate for boaters traveling up and down the Hudson or through the metro New York area. Or, if you are just looking for a place to stay for a weekend, stop on by!
During your stay at Shattemuc Yacht Club, you are welcome to use the swimming pool and clubhouse interior when they are open. Outside the club are gas grills, picnic tables and a fine porch with tables and chairs. The kitchen has a stove, microwave oven, crockery and flatware. There is an ice machine on the property, near the pool. Ice is $2 per bag. To access it, you must ask a member to unlock it for you.
There is a bar within the clubhouse that is open on weekends, usually from Friday to Sunday. When it is tended, all drinks consumed within the clubhouse and on the porch must be purchased at the bar. At picnic tables, this is not required.
Requesting a slip for your boat
SYC has agreements with Snag-A-Slip and Dockwa, Inc., to provide online dock reservation service for transient boaters. These services make reserving a slip or mooring and paying a breeze.
SYC Showers and Changing Rooms
Once signed in as a transient guest of the club, you are welcome to use our showers and changing rooms behind the pool.
SYC Beach and Kayak racks
You are also welcome to use the beach on the north side of the property to launch or land your kayaks, small paddle craft or tenders. Except for the clubhouse and porch, dogs are welcome but must be on a leash while on the property or docks.
Local Restaurants There are a couple of local restaurants within easy walking distance: The Boathouse Restaurant and 3-Westerly.
The Boathouse is located near the club’s entrance gate and 3 Westerly is located at the site of the apartment building just down the street near the railroad station.
On weekends, advance reservations are recommended. Menus and contact information can be found online. Take-out food for consumption at the club is available. Several other restaurants, pizzerias, and delis are within a mile or so, and will deliver food to the club. See menus at the bar.
